I'm currently running 225/40/18" with Abbott springs and Koni shocks and I fear I may need dental treatment soon to replace my fillings. These are up for sale and I'm looking for some sensible 16" rims but have a choice of these 2 tyres. I think the 205/50's look too small in the arches and I do like the width of the 225's I already have. They both have the same +2.7% circumference over stock 195/60/15's which I can live with ( the present wheels are 3.6%). Anyone have opinions, advice - from experience please. Oh and I'll probably go for some Toyo Proxes T1-S.

I've run 205/55/16 on my car for the last 10 months and have had no problems at all, a little bit more comfortable and look a bit better than the 205/50/16.
As for 225 i've never tried them but theres so much clearance i can't imagine there would be any rub... |

225s will work fine in the front but will rub in the rear.....

Yes - more investigation means that to get 225 width tyres to work I need an offset less than stock which is what my 18"'s have - they are ET42 and the stock 16" wheel is ET49. I think I'll go with 205's then unless I can find 16" wheels in ET42.
