Default Trans slipping from first to second

Greetings,

Here I am again helping someone out with there 2003 aero 95. The problem is with the transmision from first to second only. It seems to be draging or just taking its time shifting from time to time. It doesn't do this all the time, maybe a couple of times a week and thats it. Could this be just dirt in a valve and it really just needs and oil change?
Also what kind of oil should he be using? Before I forget it is an automatic.
Any help would be great. Thanks,
Dennis

assuming you have an automatic, my car has similar problem.
changing from 1st to 2nd is abrupt or rough when throttle is very gentle. when pedal is hard pressed, its smooth.

The trans is an automatic, did you ever find out what was up with yours?

Any other ideas, anybody? is this a very uncommon thing?

Acording to what I am reading in this work shop with this being an 03 this is a "5 speed automatic"? and I should be running Dextron III?

Since there has been only one responce to this, is it safe to say that this is a problem that is uncommon?

Ok, I went back and found that I made a mistake. So the 03 automatic takes "3309"? and is there a brand that I should be using?

Mobil do a type 3309 tranny fluid as does Toyota who call it type IV i believe. The 3rd option is go to a GM dealership and pick up the OE 3309.
