Seen lots of conflicting reports about transmission fluid changing...
While my levels are fine in both my 9-5's (01 SE wagon 86k miles, 99 2.3L sedan 91K miles), I don't know if the tranny fluid has ever been changed... Is it something that needs to be done on a regular basis? If I don't do it but keep the levels full, am I still ok? |

I'm sure you are fine, but I would recommend a drain and refil every year of the ATF.
It only replaces about half the ATF fluid but does keep things fresh.

With the age of your car, a complete replacement would be useful (12 qts changed 4 qts at a time with some driving in between). Then you can get to an annual change of the 4qts that is easy to drain.
