Hi, does anyone know if there are braces for a 900 vert?? It seems that there is no place to mount a front struct brace, so I may have to consider an under brace...
if i were to fabricate one, where would I tie the brace to? thanks |

Were those not mostly on SPG and hi end turbo models. Is the handling/ride better with them? I'd like to know too as I'm stripping an SPG today and do I want to keep this? Sorry to sponge off your thread!

I think a lot of the scuttle could be fixed by fitting a cross brace under the car. I don't know where it would mount to (presume the sills) or whether there would be clearance issues. |

The convertibles already have bracing...
If you wanted to do something really effective you'd want to weld a bar right behind the doors at the window level... or maybe a cm or two rearward to allow for the front seats. It would look weird and it would be hard to get into the rear seat afterward but that would tighten the car's handling notably IMO. If you put a brace between the springs in the front suspension you wouldn't do much. If you did that on the rear not much either IMO. The main problem is the floppy middle section because the roof is missing. SPG has extra bracing? Where?

This SPG has exactly as you described - a 3/4 inch brace from front to front shock/spring.

The EPC page for the front end does not list any extra parts for SPGs; it shows differences only between hard-tops and convertibles. Infer then, that there is no extra bracing for SPGs and, in fact, no difference between the front end of any Base, S, or Turbo hard-top c900 of the same model year, sedan or hatch. There do appear to be some differences between earlier and later cars, however -- it looks like they may be due to the airbag system in '90.
