I have a really tough decision to make, guys and I need some help. My beloved daily beater NG900 has finally given its last run. My shift linking is all tore the hell. It was basically on its last legs anyway and I was teaching my brother in law how to drive a 5 speed and that did it in. I cant get it into 5th gear or reverse. In order to get my car inspected next month I need to get a new windsheld (coal truck flipped a rock on my car and cracked it) and new shift linkage total it will cost me about 600-700 bucks.
I found a 1992 c900 NA 2.1 litre for sale local for 850 bucks, Im going to offer him 500 for it and see if I can get my hands on it. between stripping the ng900 and that c900 for sale I could turn my other c900 into a really nice daily driver. Im torn between wether its worth sinking the money into my ng900 which has some cancer and body damage to it, or to get the c900 from the local sale and make one really nice c900 from the parts. what should I do??

ng900 that's the worse swear word ever on this forum. dump it,c900 could be the linkage just wants adjustment/realigning if it's 5th and rev.

You'll get the parts you need from a wreck yard for less than $100 - that is both screen and linkage; post 1995 linkage is far better than the earlier type and it takes about 20 minutes to swap. The screen is trickier, as cutting out requires a 'piano wire' or cheese wire technique to cut through the glue.
If you do give up, from my UK perspective I have found breaking the vehicle up will often pay for its replacement [and some in one case

Its such a hard decision. I would really like to turn my c900 into a nice daily driver. The rising costs of repairing my new gen while trying to make money to work on my c900 makes it difficult to even keep one car running properly.
I think my best option will be to get the NA c900 for parts and strip what i can from my NG900. then part out the rest of my new gen. The tranny is still really good, so that would be somethin i could get rid of. Also one of my friends with a ng900 wants to buy my 17's, my saab armrest, and my sid for 300 bucks which would help out fixing up the c900 also.
