FYI, the 9-3 ranked higher than average in the 2007 Matt's Report.

thats probably because the 9-5 is only 1 redesign away from when saab was still owned by saab... whereas the new 9-3 is starting to turn into your run of the mill GM retrofitted piece of garbage.

If i wanted domestic parts in my saab i would have just bought a chevy

The 93 has about a 1% domestic parts content.

yes i know but what i mean is that the interior is starting to look like the usual line up of clones that GM pops out all over the world... look at the SID disappearing from 07 on and other stuff like that... i bought my saab because it was a saab... not just another GM clone... as far as mechanicals go... they can do what they want as long as i dont see it... but the interior has to stay saab-like

I think you are talking out of your *****. Although I will admit GM has had a shaky time building cars in the past, all of that is changing now. I think the epsilon platform the 9-3 is based on is excellent, and you can thank GM for that. The 9-3 is the best driving front wheel drive sedan I have ever driven. Period. Guess whose pockets shelled out the cash for such a platform--GM. The interior GM is putting out in its new products is very nice. Have you seen the Saturn Aura....nice ride. But, we will agree to disagree. I would put money on the face that the upcoming 9-4x and next gen 9-3 and 9-5 will be world class cars in both exterior and interior design. But according to you they will just be rebadged Impalas.

I was at the dealer for 8 hours yesterday. I got a lot of sit time an 07 9-3 on the showfloor. Very nice! I would just have to say I hate how they use wood effect plastic trim. Think of how much nicer real wood would be?

My '03 9-3 has real wood (veneer) trim. Are you sure it was plastic? I haven't sat in any '07s with wood-like trim so I don't know first-hand.

When I took out my effect wood trim it was hard plastic, and when I looked/tapped the wood trim inside the 07 in the showroom it was plastic as well. The only real trim is the metallic trim, which is actually metal.
