Default Tire wear(cupping)/allignment and replacement...

Hi all, got a problem with allignment from day one and the dealer (in my opinion) is getting ready to give me the runaround. History: within a month of buying my 9-2x i noticed noise and vibration due to cupping of tires caused by misallignment from factory which over time became very bad. The dealer was actually pretty good a first, i'm guessing due to the fact that Saab was fitting the bill for reallignment and tires. From what i gather they did some "special" allignment which solved the cupping of the tires but created wear on the inside of the tire, very bad. So, the whole point of my ramblings is this, has anyone else had allignment issues similar to mine(i thought i read this before but can't find the thread)? Also can u recmend a good wearing cheap set of all weather tires? Much appreciated in advance, Bob

Was the car new? Cupping is usually caused by suspension problems, might be shocks/struts, etc. Although I did hear that some new Saabs have the same issue you mentioned but I think it was attributed to the tires. Try searching some more.

You may want to run this by a local Subaru dealer and get their opinion. The 9/2x sharing a platform with the WRX, I'm sure they have run across this.

Tire wear is a dead giveaway that the wheels are out of alignment or that steering or suspension parts are worn. So anytime you find unusual tire wear, be sure to give the steering and suspension a thorough inspection to find out what's causing the problem.
