Hello all, I'm looking at buying a 91 9000 turbo. It has some problems that need to be fixed and thought this would be a good place to start. It needs a new DI cassette, which i plan on getting. With a good DI when you go to start it, it just cranks over, until you put your foot on the gas and hold it wide open and then after about a minute it will start. I noticed that i could also smell fuel after we shut it off, it almost seems like it is flooded or something. any thoughts? thanks

Lack of fuel pressure for the starting? Possibly a leak in the fuel line such that fuel pressure is lost before starting and then leaking under pressure when you've switched off?
