I searched the fourm but cound not find any issue like mine.
My issue is that the SID powers on, I can see the backlight, but there is nothing displayed at all. When I start the car, I get a info warning which I clear . Clearing it makes the red backlight go out ( so I think there is some communication going on to the SID). Best I could find was to pull fuse 3 and 14 which I have removed tonight and will replace in the morning (so any capacitor can discharge and hopefull reset the SID) Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Worst case cenario, I will have to replace the SID with a donor unit from a junkyard (but then I will have to remarry with Tech II). Thanks! |

I had similar issue a couple of weeks ago- one nice morning SID and radio went blank and dead. Took out 2 fuses (don't remember what exactly but could be the same 3&14) for half an hour, crossed fingers and- it worked!
Changing of SID would not give you anything as it is mainly a dispaying unit, most of information it receives from radio box. Is your radio working? System chimes/ticks sounds?

Yes, my radio works. I get chimes, turn signal sounds, and alarms.
EDIT: I just replaced the fuse and I now get something on the display; a picture of the car when teh door opens. The image is quite a bit off center and the top of the graphic is a little cut off. Last edited by skiguy09; 15-06-07 at 01:00 PM. |
