Hmmm, driving a 93 2.0T Auto as a loaner today...Stickered at 28,895 this is a pretty Spartan Saab..16" wheels, Cold weather pkg, No Moon roof, Very "Dry" Interior, Dash is reminding me of the Chevy Malibu Loaner from my last visit. IMO this is a 24k car at most, probably less when the 08's are flowing. Really makes me appreciate my Vector and Old 900.

You know, I just picked up my 03 from the shop today and return my loaner 07 93 with 1800 miles on it. I missed all the cool gadgets that came in my 03, like the SID up top, the infortainment, the climate controls, etc. For the most part I really enjoy my 03 much more (but I think mainly because its a 6 speed and feels more peppy than the auto). However!! the 07 was a clear winner in road noise, rattles, suspension and ride quality.

I think you guys crazy! Give me an 07 with the nav, XM, and bt and I will be one happy camper. A decrease in rattles would be a big plus too. Don't get me wrong, I really like the look of my 06 dash, but I would trade the look for the integrated XM alone. I have the SAAB commander kit and am hooked on it, but when I drive my truck with the integrated system it makes me realize how nice it is to be able to use the steering wheel controls to change stations.

There ya go, different strokes an all for different folks...I could care less about XM, sirius (I do Ipod Playlists) or Integrated NAV...and actually have not had a rattle problem to speak of. I just found it a bit Spartan.

Anytime I've had Warranty or Service work done that was going to take over two hours, most times a Saab, if the shops really busy, a rental...

The 07's are definitely an improvement in terms of quality, road noise, fit and finish. The older models had some quirkiness that is more Saab like.
Most dealers are selling that 28K car for invoice (26,500 or so) minus the 3k rebate and 1k Saab loyalty......$22,500. That is competitive with a Toyota Camry or Accord. Chose leather appointed seats, traction control, auto tranny, etc. in a Camry or Accord and the price jumps. |

I think it's up to the dealer/service center whether they give you a loaner car or not when you bring the car in for service. When I bought my Subaru 12 years ago, I paid $100 extra for the car in exchange for the dealer's agreement to give me a free loaner car every time I brought the vehicle in for service. Even factoring in any higher price for service at the dealer, getting the free loaner car for 12 years of service was certainly worth $100. But the Saab dealers around here (Wash. DC) seem to offer you a loaner car as part of their package when you buy a new vehicle. Too bad not the case in Canada!
