Well we don't condone street racing here....

You can check with johnc_22 in the workshop, as he just sold his 2.0T Aero and got a 335i. Personally I don't consider the 335 and even the V6 Aero to be in the same league. The options always seem to drive beemer prices to an unreasonable level. So you end up comparing a $35K car to a $45K car.

Hmmm.....

Bimmer has more HP and torque, and has it across a wider rev range...

Bimmer is only slightly heavier....

Gotta go with the BMW for this one.....

Magazines are getting performance numbers for the new 335i which are pretty close to last year's M3. That car can move. I suspect a PPC'd 2.8T could keep from getting totally walked from a roll, but beyond accomplishing that would likely require more significant upgrades. But this is just my guess, no real world experience to support it.

Post it's faster

hmm...

i only have the Hirsch upgrade (275Bhp and 400Nm) and I can tell that the 335i is... well... FASTER. I "tried" one in 3rd gear and he just went like my engine was a silly 1.9 diesel

Hopefully the Black Turbo (with some software upgrade ) will give it a run for it's money.. I am looking forward to a XWD Aero.

Regards,
A

At least the Aero is immeasurably more aesthetically pleasing and doesn't carry the stigma...

In real life the SAAB will be quicker A to B. In the Beemer you'll be waiting at every junction - nobody will let you out

No contest.

A 335i walked my 06 6spd Aero with BSR stage one as if I had no BSR!

Those 335i's are bad to the bone and are now putting out 375 whp when tuned. Go to the bimmerforums and check out what Vishnu Tuning is doing to them.

Comparing any Saab to a BMW 335 is unfair. In this particular case, a BMW 328i would be a more realistic comparison to a 9-3 Aero, but even then, the BMW is faster.

I ve driven the darn thing.... and ordered a 335d(better for autobahn storming)

335i is a very serious car, light years ahead of the V6 Aero.

It should be, it costs more than 33% more here!!

335I, bog standard, £32,000 ( leather etc will cost a lot extra ). Minimal discount available.
SAAB Aero 2.8V6, 50 miles on the clock, £20,499.
BMW may be a bit better in some respects ( or not as taste dictates ) but it is not 33% better IMHO!
