Default Dragstrip launch technique in 2.8l Aero?

What rpm and techniques are you using for the best 60' times with the 2.8l manual? Is anyone breaking a 2 second 60'? Seems this can be hard in FWD without a limited slip and drag radials.

Out of curiosity, what times are you running when you leave ESP on and just leave the pedal on the floor from pre-launch to the finish line?

I have never run it. I should probably at least dig out my gtech to get an idea what works and doesn't. I have no idea even what tire pressures work on this car. I am getting bugged to bring it to Lapeer this weekend..

I launched my 2.0T at 2300 ish and I didn't have any problem with skidding tires and such (Traction control was on, I didn't know how to turn it off until after that evening!) but I ran 15.52's consistantly, my best 60' time was 2.3549 seconds

LOL Ron maybe? The SHO guys are going this weekend and I think the Aero is quicker than any year of stock SHO but there are many 10ths to be had in proper setup and technique.

I'd hate to see a $48K car loose to a $30K car just because I do not know how to drive it or set it up for the track yet I suppose I could go try some stuff on the dog bone at Milford Friday after work.

haha nah I dont know a Ron but one of my friends who drives a GTP keeps trying to get me to take it to the track, I wanted to try the boost controller to see if it worked before i took it to the track at all but I might go just because I havent been out in a while

I dont think there really is much to "set up" on the car, Tire pressure doesnt really help with radials, especially with smaller sidewalls. you could maybe take off 100 pounds or so by pulling the passenger seat, but usually every 100 lbs is only worth a tenth. I say just go make a few passes and get a feel for the car.

practice slipping the clutch just barely enough to keep traction you shouldnt need to very much though since they have pretty good low end....or you could just leave the TCS on and bomb it out of the hole careful though those SHO's have a bigger aftermarket than the saab

where are you from? Im in Flint
