I am thinking about a 9-3 saab. I own 2 Subaru outbacks. I woul like to know about long term potential problems unique to the 9-3. I a have 133000 miles on one Subaru and have never had problem. Saabs do not seem do to well in consumer reports except for safety. I would purchase a cpo Saab in Wesport ct. I would like to own a vehicle which I can drive to 200000 miles

I've seen some reports say overall that reliability for Saabs was good (with the exception of small quirks). I mean you can can't count on a saab not leaving you stranded on the side of the road from a serious mechanical issue. You are more likely to run into stupid small electrical problems that are minor inconveniences.
As for Saab of Westport, I'd recommend you go to Saab of Milford. I bought my car there and they are the number 1 CPO dealer in the nation and when I was shopping around they were cheaper than Saab of Westport. |

The big difference between a Saab and a Subaru is the complexity of the electronics. A Subaru is as simple as you can get (fuel management only) and is very reliable as a result. Saab, on the other hand, is about as complicated as you can get and suffers accordingly (for some anyway). I happen to own one of each and have never had any trouble with either.
