I was looking at the SiD today and wondering...
The one side is dimmer than the other side. when i took it apart before i thought i saw some little lightbulbs in there before. Does the SiD depend on lightbulbs to help with backlighting or is it in the LCD pannel itself? I don't really care to take it apart just to check so i hope somebody on here knows.... |

It uses some pretty standard incandescent light bulbs. You can probably find them at most auto parts stores.

I had the same thing happen, Unfortunatly the auto stores were useless and I had to go to an eletronics store for the bulbs - the're 14V btw, you want the little ones with the two trailing wires I forget the exact name of the bulb type but pigtail comes to mind.
Just re-fit the new bulb into the white plastic bulb holder and re-install. I had to drill the holders out slightly to fit the new bulbs, but it was easy. When you pull the SID from the dash look at the back and you will see the three holders. |
