Removing rear shelf 6x9s

Sorry guys, I know this has been asked and answered before in various ways. I found several threads with bits of information, but I'm still having some trouble.

I'm replacing my 03 9-5 Linear's AS3 rear-shelf 6x9s. I've removed the headrests, removed the grilles (snapped a clip. oops!), and unscrewed the 4 screws on top of the speakers and I'm still having trouble removing them. I see there's some kind of black plastic trim around the speakers that looks as though it is glued in with adhesive. Do I simply push pull and prod until I can remove the glue, then clean up the area and seat my speakers, or am I missing a screw or bolt somewhere that makes this easier? I actually laid facing up in my trunk and put quite a bit of pressure on the bottom of the speakers without noticing any give.

Thank you very much for your time!
