Can you reset the key without having to go to the dealer. My car will not start and all I get is the message "Key Not Accepted".
I tried putting the key in, turning it to "ON" and pressing the trunk button on the fob but nothing happened. Please, anything helps! |

Perhaps a stupid question, but is that your only key?

Niether of them work. I have been having little issues over the last few weeks where the car would not unlock so I would have to pull the key out of the fob and then turn the alarm off by putting the key in the ignition and turning it.
I just went out to the car and now the key won't even turn. The car does not even recognize that a key is even inserted in the ignition. I read on an earlier post that someone disconnected his battery and it worked for a while. wondering if I should try that? |

I had a very similar issue where I was getting key not recognised messages and would have to remove the key and reinsert it to get it working. I disconnected the battery and this made the issue dissapear for a few days but it came back.
Took the car to the dealer before it completely died and they diagnosed it as a bad ignition switch. Fortunately they had 3 in stock, changed and the problem has been solved, can't remember how much it cost, but it was considerably less than a new CIM.

Sounds like the ignition switch. Once the button in the bottom of the ignition is pushed, it will disable the remote. I had the same problems with my 07. Did you get any steering wheel lock malfunction on the SID? Could be the ISM is going bad and needs replaced. Havent had a problem since I've installed the new switch.
