So my 1997 900 SE Convertible has these funny lookin mud flap things under the center of car half way between the front and rear wheels. I have never seen anything like this on any car before. Are these a factory install that everyone takes off?? Thanks for the help guys!
At one time, Saab had no fear about being "funny" or quirky - not that they were the only ones.
Volvo as a brick
Japanese cars with "strange" styling
VW with its "new beetle"
Chrysler with its tailfins
Ford with its melted butter Taurus styling
GMs ultra-bland politically-correct styling
Mercedes with the oversized steering wheel(with PS)
The Saab features are practical and necessary. The flap does something to protect the fuel filter and to prevent stones from being tossed by the wheels..
The ignition switch is properly located in respect to convenience and safety.
The undersized interior(900ng), allows easier heating and cooling... :cheesy:
They're left over from Saab's rallying days. Saab stopped putting them on cars beginning in 1998. If you search the forums, you'll find some funny posts about them.
