My main intercooler hose (the one that goes to the turbo) on the turbo side was ripple-cracked around half of its circumfrence. I happened to have some p.o.s. hose tape handy, so I put it on kind of sloppily but enough to cover the cracked area (the cracks were actual leaks, not just scratches). I also sprayed pretty much the entire underside of my engine to rid it of the oil buildup in order to locate an oil leak. Now, my turbo seems to whistle a few hundred rpm earlier, and much louder. When it whistles at the same rpm it used to, it isn't noticeably louder, and I don't notice much or any performance increases. I just want verification that this increased noise (almost sounds more like when you plop a cold air intake and cone filter on a previously-stock car) is normal after fixing an intercooler hose, not a problem derived from the brakleen spraying.
Thanks for any help!
