Default Very hard shift from P to R - is my tranny going crap out soon?

2002 SAAB 9-5 2.3L, I have had nothing but problems with SAAB.

What can be the causes of the above symptom?
Is the tranny going to crap out at any moment now?

Your advice is greatly appreciated

If you can get under it, check out the transmission mount. You should be able to see it pretty easily with the car lifted up a little bit. There's a black bit of rubber on the inside of it, see if this is torn. I'd say this is likely the cause. I just ordered the poly insert from GenuineSaab.com for $35 ($45 with shipping).

Not sure of the mileage and assuming athe fluid has been changed, you can lean under the front of the car and see the front tranmission mount.

Does it always do it? Or just in a certain driveway? Assuming its automatic it could just be a slant in your driveway or wherever you park. If that's the case try engaging the e brake before you put it in park, then put in park. When you're ready to leave put it in reverse and then put e brake down.

I have it with my 02 Aero. Common issue. Can be alleviated quite a bit with a solid trany mount available from GS.

thanks for all the replies

I understand that the front tranny mount is "easier" to replace than the rear one.
