I plan to use my external wastegate with an APC at some point. I'm sure it would work ok. just might need some setting up to adjust for the different properties.
Those old "charge pressure regulators" do make a nice noise.
BTW, up on a very windy hillside in Derbyshire do you remember looking at my engine bay, then CaptRossco's and you were commenting about the location of our dump valves. Have you gone the same route? <--- Moderators, please append to the "Nutcase 99 Saga" if necessary
Cor that's going back a bit! You've got the tapered pipe coming from right by the throttle housing? I still havn't put mine on yet, but I want to get a bit of aluminium tube welded onto the pipe between the turbo and the throttle housing. But I may be lazy and just get a tapered pipe
How about going for a twin dump valve setup like the Renault 5 GTT? I betcha the charge pipe is close enough to get the valves sticking out through the grille for some real noise :cheesy: :nono;
APC would control any wastegate. The APC operates the actuator. Does not need to know what it's connected to.
