Default Hot engine

B205..... probably stating the obvious here, but temps mid to high 80's, light city traffic, stop/go stuff. Rad. fan kicks on a lot more than 05 9-5 does in same weather.
Know their not the same engines, but at times if I go out and start car again say 10 min after, I think will buck and nearly stall before smoothing out.
Let it go longer, starts are normal. Fine in any other driving situation. But yeah, runs hotter than the B235r.

My B204L also triggers the fan more often than i expect a similar car to do so (have previously owned a Volvo and a VW with 136bhp 2.0 litre 4-cyl engines) but in my case it didnt seem detrimental to the running

I just made two extra electrical connections... wired from the switched (negative) coil terminal of the high speed fan relay to a pair of heated seat switches. (cut off ball point pen through the firewall grommet as a wiring guide)

One of them turns on the fan and keeps it on so I can pre-cool the coolant before reaching heavy traffic, the other links or unlinks it to the handbrake switch so I can force constant cooling while stationary. I had to use a few diodes to prevent the circuits interfering with each other and/or confusing the ECU but it was very straightforward

Mine came to me with 5w30 in the sump and I immediately switched it to 10w40 as it seems smoother with thicker oil

If you have aircon, the rad fan comes on to cool the condenser which happens pretty frequently for short durations.
