You should be able to at least inspect it with only the door panel off.

In theory it should only effect the door where it is bad, possibly but unlikely both are bad, but also it may be in a weird position throwing off the DICE or something.

I can't see what's going on with the locks.

On both sides the lock actuator will make a chnk noise that can be felt on the snipper when it's supposed to be locking but there's no movement.

It's not the deadlock or the rod that actuates it, when the deadlock is engaged there's no sound at all.

I can't get the lock mechanism out to look at it though someone with sub Trump size hands might be able to. And if I did I don't now if I'd be able to reconnect the actuating rods, there's no room in there.

I can't see it being the solenoid as both sides went at the same time.
The module is ok because all the locks are getting signal.

The solenoid isn't jammed, the snipper and the key work freely.

Stick your phone in there and snap a pic to inspect. This is the drivers (LHD) side. Black plastic part(s) are broken on this one and required replacement.

Thanks for that.
How did you get the clips for the actuating rods undone? And then could you do them up again when you replaced the mechanism.

When I said I can't see what's going on with it, I meant I don't understand what's wrong. I can see it, my back is stuffed now but I saw the mechanism.

For 3 of the 4 clips - left 2 and bottom right in second pic - check out this ebay pictorial.

The top right doesn't really clip; the rod pulls out when the assembly is removed, and you have to feed it in when re-installing. It was a PITA and left my hand sore and cut, but it's doable.

It says the listing has been removed.

I'm looking forward to taking the skin off my knuckles.

I've got a daughter with small hands that I sometimes get to help me with stuff like this, I have to get her in the right mood. 15 year old girl.

Something I'll try tomorrow is to apply voltage directly to the solenoid, see what happens.
It's doing a little bit, just not much.

I went out and had another go, my hands are just too big to get in there unclip the rods.

I tried applying voltage to the wiring, the black/green wire and the blue wire; nothing, not even what I was getting by clicking the fob which was a chnk noise on 'lock'.
