199xxx 97 900se vert replaced a bunch of stuff though most was preventative maintenance and/or upgrades and not repairs. I think i got it at at 164k but id have to look for that. Bought the car as a beater, didnt even look into saabs since i figured id only have the car for a year as i was delivering pizzas at the time.. That was a few $$$$ and 4 years ago. Added a 2009 9-3 and still want to get a 9000 and an 80's style 900. Only way ill get rid of the 900 is for another 900 though.

Im going to obscure the statistics by voting 200k and well just hope i make it the next, i think 400 miles.

1999 9-3 SE with 171K miles on the clock. Doing a total refurbish on the suspension right now, with Koni struts, Eibach springs, and urethane bushings everywhere. Engine idles unevenly, feels a little different every day. There is drive shaft vibration at highway speeds. Tranny is a little noisy, and shifting is not very smooth.

Now for some history. I blew a tire at 80 MPH about a year back, which was scary. Destroyed a rim. Blown ignition cassette at 70K. Head gasket was replaced at 80K. Blown turbo at 115K. Starter motor died at 140K. Rear window regulator died at 150K. Tranny bearings started to make a lot of noise, so I had Swedecar replace seals and deal with tranny fluid leakage. Had the clutch replaced, and upgraded to the Viggen PP and a SPEC aluminum flywheel. Blew a hole in my muffler at 168K and replaced it with a used Viggen exhaust.

1995 Saab 900SE Turbo convertible with 155,000-had her since September of 2010 (bought her with 114,000). Replaced almost everything; some by choice, others by necessity.

1995 Saab 900SE V6 convertible with 205,000-Dad's car, was formerly his parents' spare car. They got it with just over 100,000 I believe back in the late 90s/early 2000s. 2nd motor (lovely timing belt went back in 2006). About to get its 4th timing belt done.

Best part? Both are Imola red, only difference is the rims. People look at us funny at times.

I'm 29 years old, inherited my parents 1987 900 S with ~160,000 on the dash, it still has that on the dash as the odometer quit in 1995, conservatively speaking, I would say ~250,000 on the car. Still runs suitable for me, drives straighter than an arrow and pushes the 30 mpg mark.

In February I purchased a 1998 900 SE Convertible with 123,810 on the odometer. Best $1000 dollars I ever spent!

Bought my 2002 9-3 aero back in October 2012 with only 47k miles on it totally stock. Was a real find and the car still feels brand new. I live in Denmark and picked it up in Sweden where it served as a families 4th car. I use it as a daily driver and have only been doing upgrades and regular service. It just turned 55k now so I plan to keep it for at least 10 years which shouldnt be a problem the way I treat my cars.

Smile Is 250,000 Miles a record on 2000 Viggen?

250,000 miles yesterday!

Bought new July 2000 - original engine and transmission....

Got a little history, but no major problems.
One head gasket, 2 clutch replacements, 2 water pumps, 2 crank position sensors, 2 DI cassettes, countless oil changes.... A couple of rounds of more-or-less stock suspension and steering component replacements, and a few CV joints later (I have one outer on the shelf as a 'birthday gift' for the car that might go in this weekend).

Have also dropped the oil pan to stop seepage and of course gave a thorough cleaning and inspection, replaced front crank shaft seal, drive shaft seals, etc...

Currently one slow seep at trans case end cover gasket (PIA!) and I can't see a thing on my CID and half my dash lights are dark...otherwise all is well.

p.s. - Original Catalytic convertor and O2 Sensors and ORIGINAL Borla rear muffler. Front extension pipe and center muffler swapped 3 times...and each time I've smacked the carbon out of the rear muffler... Sounds better every day....

As for ownership cost, you then back out the money you get when the car is eventually sold / parted out.

You'll do even better than the above.

Plenty of cars are on the road that cost more than $.135/mile on gas alone, and most are much more than $.04/mile on the investment standpoint, so overall, it's a pretty good deal.

So I just calculated about how much my NG900 cost me for the two and a half years I had it. Adding in all the money I can remember putting in it (tires, repairs, oil, ect..., excluding fuel only) and an insurance settlement from the front bumper being hit and the amount I got when I scrapped it. The cost per mile is almost $0! I actually calculated a profit of $.0017 but I'm sure there are a few expenses that I missed so I'll just call it at $0. I basically just paid for the fuel.

It's only kilometres, so nothing exciting. Note that non-turbos get an extra segment of white above 6000 RPM.

187k miles (301000km) currently in my 1997 NG900 2.0T cab. Little rust is there in the boot lid and the central locking failed last winter. Otherwise it's going great

I cant be certain of the mileage on my 900. Had the cluster looked at by auto tech last year and ever since the odo went down to 132k . If i were to guess it would be about 230k. I could get it reprogrammed but meh...
