Default 9-4x Rear Tail Lights

I have a 2011 9-4x and need right and left rear Tail Light Assemblies. The circuit board for the LEDs seems to be defective as LEDs blink once in a while. The Saab centers I have gone to for repair all tell me they need to be replaced but even though they are GM part numbers I can't find any in the USA. Am wondering if any one on here has similar problems and if you have been able to resolve this issue?

There is a solution to the taillight issue. This kit doesn't fix the LED's but converts your brake lights to running lights which will enable you to keep driving it at night at least.

It's on EBAY and it's called Saab 9-4x left Taillight Right Taillight modification kit.

Both tail lamps assemblies will be available very soon from ORIO on their website. aka The Saab Site. They just purchased a fairly large quantity that was left over from production.

I'm not sure how long it might take them to get them up for sale but they will have them soon. Get em while they last............

Default better buy a bunch

By that logic, since these are production units and they ALL fail, I'd need to buy enough to replace them every two years.

Does that mean I can quit trying to source other parts for the rest of your vehicle too? My life would be so much easier.

Some owners need assemblies. Just because you don't doesn't mean there isn't a need.

Jeez man, as a 9-4x owner (per your sig) you should know. Why the hate?
They are trying to help and I was just passing along the info.

Default No hate here, just wish there was a fix

No hate here and my sincere apologies for stating the obvious in such a way it caused the extreme reaction you had. And yes, agree, "Get em while they last............," as there may never be any new production.

We're all just wishing there was a real fix for the problem. And yes, I did already order another taillight. And yes, I did it knowing that because these are of the same production as the ones which already failed, it's fairly certain they'll fail in a couple of years as well. We've got no options, but at least we'll be lit til we aren't.

Thanks for making us aware of what's out there.

No blood no foul Jack. It is unfortunately the truth.

Orio is also working with another company to have a permanent repair option as well.

There is a guy on the 9-4X facebook page that has a solid fix for the tail lights and light bar. Pricey but he seems to know what he's doing.
