I used my ipod today to test a 0-60 in my 98 900 se automatic. Mods are OAI, MBC w/o antipacitor (for now) set to 12psi and rear muffler delete. I had it in drive and held my foot on the brake and the gas till about 2 grand or so then i punched it and hit the start on my stop watch app. I ran a 8.3. Does this sound about right. Just curious since these cars are kinda heavy lol
+1. These cars aren`t designed to be fast off the line - I find that 1st gear is way too short. As Martin says, they are designed to perform once the car is rolling e.g. overtaking.
I ran into this website not too long ago, they list the 96 900 as 8.3, but then they're listing the 99 9-3 at 6.7 which seems a bit off...anyway pretty interesting:
That sounds very slow to me I was able to get 6.3 once in my 99 with just MBC using a G meter though high 6 second was more common. Did you stay in 2nd?
Slow, these were stated to get to 60 in about 7.5 for the slushies and 7.1 for standard shift. With an MBC I could get around 6.7 seconds 0-60. Stage 3+ isnt too much faster though due to traction probs. 50-90 is waaaaay faster though.

Here's a run I did earlier on the way home from my girlfriend's house, a cool 30 miles away. My 2-3 synchro is horrible which is why it takes so long to go from 60 to 70. And the tune I'm running at the moment has slightly less aggressive boost control and timing because I slipped my clutch while tuning with E85 so I de-tuned until summer, when I can change my clutch.. also saw a knock count at 78mph which means dumped fuel until I shifted to 4th. My guesstimate based on the acceleration curve, that only would have made .4s of a difference from 80 to 100, though.
Things are much better at sea level. The tune is still being worked on down low, too - that's why it's taking forever just to get to 30.
Also, not using launch control or much of a launch other than dropping clutch but not all the way to let it slip some, so no bog.
Cool, yeah I used the Bosch iPhone app and it got me to 60mph in 6.8sec. Getting it to launch smoothly is another story though, not too worried about off the line stuff anyway these San Diego freeways are more like raceways sometimes so overtaking and whatnot make the power much more important for those situations. BTW I've got a STG 1 (JZW) and my boost is anywhere from 5-25psi (depending on gear and throttle position), haha boost gauge installed last week, fun to watch aren't they?
Only thing not stock on mine is forge ram BOV and a new vacume hose. Should still be able to do it better than 7.3 though lol. The new BOV does make gear change smoother though.
I was doing 6 sec 0-60 with the T25 @16 psi with stock suspension and 16" wheels (dead struts, dead shocks, factory everything) and weight reduction with 4 door. Waiting on the Combi adapter to tune the ECM for the new turbo, and with all the suspension upgrades thrown at the car and wider 17" rim/tire it should be quicker.

I was just being a smart *** pontious. No harm meant. I just thought it was funny that you don't believe comtrang with his 0-60 times without a video but you expect us to believe yours
GT25XX is going to get raped by a HX35 at anything thats not a stand still or some random speed at a really low RPM in a required gear.
I had a S2000 with only 230wtq that would wax most cars because of high end tq and gearing.
Hey Pontius DIO, you've got me beat. I only have 2 tires mounted on factory rims, I new spare tire, tools, two DICs and a pancake air compressor in the car. That doesn't count two 55 lb dogs when I go away... Ron
:cheesy: Ironic as I don't watch weight with anything else, but get semi-compulsive with what's in the car.
