I can never ever hear the turbo blowoff valve on my 2000 9-5 V6. I have a high-flow cold air intake upgrade too, which should have made the blowoff even more noticeable. Can anyone recommend a brand of blow valve as an upgrade I can try? I heard they are fairly inexpensive and the install is pretty easy.
Which intake did you use? An open air, or just a new filter in the stock housing? With an open air you should be able to hear it. If you've already got open air and want something hopefully louder try ssqv with a recirc fitting.
You're not going to get the typical "ppssssht" sound like some other turbos, because the 9-5s turbo "blow-off valve" is more accurately a "by-pass valve," because it's a recirculating type. If you were to dump boost with a typical blow off valve, it'd mess with your ECU.
That being said, I've heard that various intakes can make you turbo spool more audible. You should realize, however, that the GT-15 on the V6 is a VERY low pressure turbo.
