Base boost is set by turning the threaded rod on the actuator so that its length changes.

You can lengthen it to the point where there's still some tension on the flap, or shorten it slightly. You don't want to raise the boost too much.

9 is probably too close to full boost. Can you go lower than 6?

Nope. 6 is as low as it gets. It's range is 6-25

You can try slowly increasing and see what happens.

As I shall. Should I be looking into a replacement APC? If that's the case, can I look for a good used one seeing as the new one if ungodly pricy

So I've decided I need to really start looking into turbo theory so i can learn all the technical stuff behind. I figure it will make building the car much easier. Does anybody know of a good Turbo Theory book out there? I know there are hundreds, Im just curious if some are better than others

Here you go, check out this article.

http://www.saab9000.com/procedures/e...seboostadj.php

What I do.
I use a pressure guage, with a hand put attached.
I pump up the wastegate until I notice the wastegate start to crack open.
Then I set the length of the rod to the upper range of the base boost figure.

I think, from what I read, if you go higher you will confuse the ECU and get fluctuating max boost performance.
