Bleeding of clutch fixed problems, but few days later clutch is dead

I had a mechanic bleed the system after the pedal went limp and it fixed the problem! For a while, at least. What does it mean that I'm in the same position after four or so days?

It means the system has a leak. Hopefully its just the hydraulic line between the clutch and the slave. Look for oil on the left hand floorwell (master cyl.), oil squirting onto the lefthand side of the engine/engine-bay (hyd.line) or oil leaking from the front of the engine bay (external slave leak). the "oil " will be brake fluid.

I think I see brake fluid on the ground that is closest to the front, or slave cylinder area. I'm guessing the two alternatives to the cause of the problem are either its seals or the slave cylinder in general, or maybe it's something else? How can I troubleshoot this to figure out what's causing the leak?

1992? I'd be surprised if it's the line. My money's on the slave cylinder.

Get the plastic clutch cover thingy off (easier said than done BTW) and have a look around the slave. It'll be pretty obvious if it's leaking. Not a disaster if it is. They're fairly cheap and a mechanic with 900 experience will be able to change it in no time.

My mechanic looked at it today and said that the slave cylinder is leaking. However it's not draining fluid but sucking in air. He's says it will have to be replaced. He's going to quote me how much one will cost tomorrow, but I wanted to see what you all thought of this prognosis, and also if you know where I could get an inexpensive slave cylinder (he said he's not going to rebuild it, and I don't have the time or tools to since I'm at school). Thanks

You can get a slave online. They cost the equivalent of about $70 over here. As for labour costs, Jim'd know better than me but to to give you an idea of time, my local scrappy, who specialises in Saab's and runs them himself, reckons he can change a c900 clutch in 30 minutes.

if its a non-turbo 900 - then i reckon 30 mins is possible if you have all the tools there ready and an assistant when required.
