Default Best battery for the buck???

I'm in need of a battery and im unsure what to buy.. I always just used optima batteries because ehhhh... Why not?? But lately they have gone downhill in quality and I'm curiouse what the general consensus is.

Pepboys has a Bosch factory replacement for $109
Autozone has there 3year for $145 and the 4 year for $160 I think

I'm really curiouse about the Bosch because you typically cant go wrong buying Bosch parts.

why not go to Sears and get a Diehard battery, they also make some similar to optimas but are much better quality imo

If you do your research there is only a few manufacturers of batteries. Walmart has a 3-year warranty for around $110 also. Membership like Sam's or Costco can save 10% more.

I have been using Interstate for the Saab, they give a 72 month warranty. Not a single one made it to 72 months but they very good at prorating the warranty.

Our Saabs are heavy on batteries because of the location of the battery next to the engine with the extreme heat killing them slowly. Lately I check the battery water on a regular basis and surprise at how much water I need to add.

I also use an Interstate and recommend them. Make sure you go to a company store for your battery, they will install it for you. They have a great warranty, last time I was there, they tested my battery and didn't feel it was up to par, so they just put in a new one, free of charge...can't beat that.

Try Costco, I know it's kind of apples to apples, but they had the battery for my 900SE for around $70...

I use to use the Sears diehard years ago but it seemed the quality of anything associated with Sears had declined. Then I went to Interstate who has a excellent warranty on their batteries and they will install them for you.

But a few years ago I started using Walmart due to fact no matter what state I am in or what time of night it is I can exchange my battery out without any arguement.

Sam's Club if you or a friend have a membership. WalMart if you don't.

You will need a Group 48 size. The most recent iteration of full size GM pick-up trucks use this same size so it should now be easy to find, not so 10 years ago.

I went to a GM dealer and got a 7 year for around 130.00. They are very good batteries, but not the cheapest.

walmart...They are cheap and wont give you any trouble if you do have to return it. If they do give you trouble, just yell to you get a manager. Once you have a manager, they will most likely be giving you the battery and possibly a gift card for your troubles. (I worked at the TLE for walmart for around a year)...
