Also my pops is gonna bring the flare tool from his work that he's got so hopefully it will be the right size

nice, thats a great idea. i want to add a trans cooler to mine as well. +2 on flaring those fittings, they will pop off if you continue driving that way.

you should have both coolers functioning, the engine coolant heats up faster then the trasmission so that will bring the trans up to temp, also the coolant stays cooler then the trans fluid so that will lower the trans fluid temp. it works togethor, you should keep both cooler connected.
