and people who say something about too much lag have never felt much more than 300bhp. Not kidding, it's definitely not something to complain about. You can't have your turbo show full boost at 2000rpm and then have 350++lb.ft.
At almost 8400 rpm's and over 600 hp I would hate to see that go flying off the dyno...death to a bad @#$ car quick! And maybe the shop tech too!
I've seen a few vids on youtube where the car comes free during pulls on a dyno, all got really lucky. It's hard to even think about straps when you hear that baby roar!!
IF its Vigges project, then I remember hearing that it had been in an Estonian one mile race, and if I remember correctly, it ran 299km/h
Another 9-5 did 305km/h(with a 200000(KM) stock gearbox) and a modified viper did 311.
Would be my joined project car and last years dynorun in the video.
A new one from same place may be filmed later today
The Estonia race was the second last of last year and the car trapped there 297km/h. In last race it did manage 308km/h for standing mile http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Df_zLHZKe_M
Last year was last year and new toys to play with now and registy for the engine located even higher (planned for 6k-9k+ rpm) http://www.garaget.org/video/ymq1jrg9wdze
If anyone wonders why the rpm registy is this high there is a simple answer, you cannot have it all, i.e. spool at 3k rpm and peak power at 8.5k rpm, since a small displacenment single tbo engine does roughly have 3k rpm span where it operates well. Also the lower the rpm span is located the higher the tq will need to be to make certain amount of power and there is a "limit" how much of it you can dig from a 2l and also how much of it the drivetrain can take.

That car is improperly strapped down. Theyre damn lucky things didnt go very very wrong.
I really like the tribute write-up you did on the engine build. Well done bro and the pics or inspiring. We're all not really that far from the mosnter are we?
X2
That's what dreams are made of, won't be a very productive day now...that motor sound would be the best ring tone, door bell or alarm clock on the planet!:cheesy:
Again, you could have 10,000 straps. Overkill doesnt make it any better when its still done incorrectly. The front should absolutely be cross-strapped, which it is not.
Could you babble what do you think one will achieve by cross strapping the front, compared to how it is tied down in this video.... There are two lines pulling the car sideways at differenct angles on each side and one pari pulling forward, so I dont really get how you get this set-up to be from the rear when compared to a normal two-line cross strap. AFAIK the cross starpping is used to get more side pulling force when tiedown connector point are almost in front of the car, nothing else, but as said please alaborate your case.
What you see at 1min time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUbfwOu2O1I in this video will can newer take place the way I tie my car down, try to undertand that
The sound you hear is the turbo being fed by a monster running at over 8000 rpms. With my full 3" from the filter to the TDO4 turbo I get the same sound just quieter. Almost sounds like a dual piston BOV.
? We're referring to after throttle plate is closed. Vigge isn't utilizing a bypass valve.
