My key remotely unlocked the doors and when I put the key and tried to start the car the battery was dead. Having replaced the battery 9 mos. ago I thought it odd. Additionally the key would not come out of the ignition. Called Saab for road service. After I got off the phone I walked around the car and noticed the dome lights were on, they were not before. I tried to start the car and got a clicking sound coming from the tach. I stopped, tried again and the car started and ran perfectly. However the clock reset itself and needed to be set so at some point there was no electrical in the car. Anyone experience this.
I think the dome lights are on a timer after you lock the car. I have left mine on for half a day before even realizing they were still on. No problem starting the car
I just was searching the forum for the problem you mentioned as I have the same problem. I just got my car back front he dealer after they replaced the broken springs and a flat tire. I started it at the dealer and the dash acted up, but started so I turned it off for 30 seconds, and started it again and everything was fine. I drove 20 miles to park my car at work in the garage and 24 hours later the dash is acting up, tach & speedo needles are fluttering, and all the lights are blinking on and off. Tow truck is on the way and i am going to see if they can jump it-if it starts with a jump my guess is bad battery, if not then it is possibly another bad CIM chip. I noticed that this car has had 3 CIM replacements since it was bought (I bought it CPO with 23k miles and I just had it replaced 4 months ago). I would be interested to hear if anyone knows if this is a CIM issue, battery or something else.
