ok so i put a a computer in my car that supposedly has a toshiba chip in it, and now when my ignition is on the check engine light flashes in a sequence of 1-7-8 ......i was wondering if anyone might know why its doing this , but i can only assume it's because it's a different computer but im not sure?
The check engine light gives off diagnostic codes in sequences of flashes. I've run into this before, too, when flashing tuned stock NG900 files that don't quite agree with my ECU.
I don't know that particular sequence, you might check around on other forums. I have a feeling no one on here will know.
If anything, more detail on why you swapped computers. Is it a tuned ECU, does the car run, any codes through a OBD2 scanner or through T5suite..?
the toshiba part didnt, and then i also noticed he has a 90 9000 listed as his car which is why hes dealing with a blink sequence and not a readable code...
i have a 1999 9-3 2.0 t , and i got if from a this kid , it's a stock computer but someone some kind of chip in it , my car runs , but my boost constinly builds , and it runs alittle rough in the morning
Tronic ecu's can not be chipped. Which is probably why it's not runnig right. your best bet is to remove the chip or put your stock ecu back in and get a tune if your looking for more power.
So, are you are saying that the car ran fine before switching ECUs?
Depending on the tune, you might need additional equipment like injectors that flow more fuel, an FPR that creates more fuel pressure and a fuel pump that produces more fuel flow. It's hard to know without knowing who did the tune.
I would be careful running that ECU until you understand what it's requirements are... Ron
Maybe he meant the ECU has a "tostada chip" in it. Just kidding...
If the guy that you bought the ECU is on this forum or another Saab forum, you should identify him and the forum. Maybe the members can get a good resolution for you... Ron
