Hi I'm not sure if this will help but, my previous car a VW Golf GTI Mk2 had very similar rear caliper set up to the 9k Saab. They were notorious for crappy handbrakes. The fix was to undo the handbrake cable adjust the pads out so you can just get the calipers to squeeze onto the disc, I actually hammered mine on, refit the cable and take the car for a run "Drag"

I've got a 94 2.0 cs.
Two weekends ago my handbrake lost grip about 10 min after I parked it on my rather steep driveway. My mother in law (can you see where this is going yet?) always parks across the entrance to my driveway as she is afeared of the steepness. Yup, you guessed it. One nearly totalled new ford focus & one completely unscathed 10 year old saab 9000. Mother in laws car! fanbloodytastic. |

When you say each caliper do you mean the 4mm allen key that has a 14mm bolt over it?
If so thats what I've already adjusted. |

check the hand brake lever where it is fixed to the floor as a friend of mine had a prob' with his hand brake and it turned out to be the car body had cracked around the lever mounting point so the floor was moving instead of the brakes being pulled on.
