If you are going off the deep end run over to an auto parts store and they will read the code for you free. Almost any cheap code reader works fine. Your car is OBDII compliant.

Already tried it with a obd 2 compliant and the scanner is not able to retrieve anything .It does not see the abs system at all.

I am not sure that an ODB2 code reader will help you with an ABS/TCS code. I think you will need to get Tech2'd.

This.

I think that OPcom can read he codes and on one workshop.they used a professional generic Bosch reader.
None of my OBD2 tools can read ABS codes - PC and Phone included.

You are going to need to take it to a shop with a Tech 2 to read the ABS malfunction and tell you where it is coming from an obd2 reader wont do it. I just had to go through this a month ago. Read my post if you want some "ideas" mine ended up being a faulty abs cable going from the passenger side hub all the way to the front left corner connector. http://www.saabcentral.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=245443

Happened to me during a ton of snow. One of the wheel sensors got blocked by the snow I guess. Got home, parked in the garage. An hour later went out, started the car, all was fine.
Mind you, the snow that was all over the front of the car had now melted and was all over the garage floor lol.

The MaxiDiag PRO MD801 is claimed to be suitable for ABS code reading

It's not cheap though.

I dont know if it will work for a saab but I just had ABS issues on my Ford Explorer and I was able to take it to Advance Auto Parts and use there scanner. it scans engine codes and ABS. Told me my right front sensor was bad purchased and replaced and was good to go.
