Did you figure out what was wrong with the a/c

my wife has a Saab 2011 94 X in which the air conditioner does not blow cold. I took it to my guy he told me the pressure on the high side was 100 and on the low side was 30. The r34 was at 1.6 pounds.The. compressor for part number for my car is. 13262838 which apparently is the same on the SRX.

There are so few 94x its hard to find information

They don't list a separate table for the 2.8 vs 3.0L. 100 psi for the high side seems too low to me. I dont know what the ambient temp was when you had it checked. I will also say that my personal experience tells me most of these reading in this chart are on the low side, so I would always use the higher of the 2 numbers.

The lower the high side and the higher the low side, the better the system will cool. But you can get too high and too low!

Bottom line is 100 psi for the high side sounds like it has a slightly low charge.

I appreciate the help but I have to tell you I'm not sure I understand what you mean. I'm at the mechanics gave me the number. I ran on the Cadillac SRX they had problems with the dryer being bad and I'm wondering if this may be the same problem. Do you know if those numbers would make sense with having a faulty dryer.thanks Mike

I understand I didn't mean to confuse you! Yes a failed dryer could definitely cause an issue. Basically the dryer (and I may get some dissenters on this) is just the refrigerant storage device. It has desiccant inside that soaks up liquid, any liquid. So if it was partially full of water due to improper manufacturing or whatever their issue was, it would limit cooling dramatically.

Ok Ive found out they have an issue with the desiccant bag rupturing and the compressors are being torqued down incorrectly. Loosen the compressor bolt and re-torque them. If that doesn't do it replace the dryer. Look for SRX bulletins
