SOLD:1995 9000 Aero

Up for sale is a very nice totally rust free 1995 SAAB 9000 Aero with 162k. Back in 1995 this car was SAAB’s factory hot rod. 0-60 in well under 7 sec, and according to SAAB faster acceleration from 50-75 than a Ferrari Testarossa. This car is extremely clean inside and out. It runs and drives well, has most of its service records since new, and is one of the best looking cars SAAB ever built. The 225hp engine runs well, and the rebuilt trans shifts perfectly. Much money has been spent on this car over the years. Some of the newer parts include:
• TCS Throttle body and safety valve (winter 2010)
• Continental DWS tires (winter 2010)
• New Pilkington Windshield (winter 2010)
• SAAB Fuel Pump Assembly (Fall 2010)
• All 4 Wheels refinished (2007)
• 2 motor mounts (2010)
• Serpentine belt, and both pulleys (2010)
• OE SAAB carpet and winter mats
• Center Brake light assembly (2009)
• Rebuilt Transmission (81k)
• Battery (2010)
• Shift coupling (2010)
• New Brake Pads and Rotors all around
• New PA Inspection and Emissions 3/12

I bought this car from a friend of mine a month or so ago. I love the car, but my wife hates driving stickshift. This car is not without issues. They are as follows:

• Clutch is tired and will slip if abused. Works fine in normal driving.
• ABS has faulty wheel sensor.
• Flex pipe is starting to leak.
• Sometimes there is an audible rattle in the shifter. I believe the bushings are bad in it.

Otherwise, this is a really nice car. The clutch is an expensive job. Its about 8 hours of work and $650 in parts. This car is for an enthusiast. These are awesome cars, but they are too needy to be driven every day by someone who isn’t doing their own work. If that’s you, look for something else. If you are familiar with SAABs, and aren’t afraid to get greasy, this car is the stuff. This car is old enough to be registered as a classic car in PA. It is also eligible for classic insurance. Come drive it, it will give you an incentive to save $$. It really is a pretty nice example of a 9000 Aero. I drove it around 100 miles this week. It is many times more fun to drive than our two new cars.

I'll probably end up replacing that flex pipe next week. I may drive the car to Carlisle on the 20th, so I'd like it to be sounding good for the trip.

I just fixed the flex pipe and took this car to Carlisle. 250mile round trip. Ran Great.
