will a b204l turbo from a 1996 900 fit in a 1999 9-3 turbo

i might need to replace my engine on my 1999 9-3. my engine is the b204l turbo.

there is a a b204l turbo from a 1996 900 at a local junkyard. Will this be a direct swap?

I will say this. It looks to be the same motor. But please reread your post. Unless you mean B204i and B204L.

The mechanic who lives near by just drop in a Viggen Motor B235R into a 2002 Saab 9-3 se Convertable which use B204L. Soon to be mine:P.

He had to do a few things to get it to work for the car. But it sure runs great. Other then then the trannie. He going to be fixing that before I buy it.

Absolutely the same engine, it'll be a direct fit.
