Suggest a 900 size city car. City car meaning 300 mile range, and parcel cover could be solar panel for when not plugged in. Short commute for me is 25+ miles one way.

I think until a car can go about 300-400 miles on one charge and can be charged up in about an hour electric cars will be a novelty.
Also:
I read some where that right now it actually cost the equivalent of $1.50 for every 35 miles you travel. Less then gas but still fairly expensive.
