walmart is hilarious

i just went to walmart and discovered they were out of mobil 1 high mileage 10w40. they usually have it for cheap.

i couldn't remember any of the other ones mentioned in the mighty "all things oil" thread, except i did vaguely remember that rotella was on the list. there was a rotella full synthetic T6 5w40 on the shelf. i grabbed it but looking at the label i noticed all the standards seem to have weird updated names...

so then i made the mistake of asking for a grease monkey to confirm that one of the other standards would meet or exceed ACEA A3. they got a kid out there and the first thing he told me was "that's a diesel oil. does your car have a diesel engine?"

I use Rotella 15w40 in my Range Rover, and the T6 synthetic (5w40) in the 9-5 and the wife's ML320. Been using it for years and I have never had a complaint at all.
