New Plenum for Holset Turbo

Curious to see if this new plenum helps breathing with the motor. Will get some dyno time in the next week or so and see how its running,

Nice John, I like the taper as it gets further away from the throttle body. Does that help with boost? Looks as if it would help keep it even throught the ports. Beautiful work...is it your own fabrication? Keep'em coming!

Put the car on a Mustang dyno yesterday, but the dyno went haywire everytime it went into full boost. When you do the math, it looks like we gained 80whp with new 276 cams and plenum, but cannot be sure as the dyno did not track past 6600rpm. The computer says 626 on the dyno, but it did the same thing on the mustang dyno as dyno-jet, only made 26psi, got it back on the road and bam, right back to 32psi, so not sure what is going on there, but it pulls hard all the way to 8k.

The mustang dyno and computer were off by a small amount. So, no idea what kind of power its really making, computer says up to 650 on the road and the mustang said 610whp at 6600rpm. So, who friggin knows It sure feels and sounds like a beast!

its called high torque FWD.... so there's a lot of tire spin

plus i believe john didnt have a chance to adjust the new twin clutch disc setup so shifting was not as smooth
things should be quicker this season

The racing season is not open yet It has not run anything with the new power and changes.

Plus power does not mean anything, do some research and you will see there are 850bhp Saabs, does that mean they run 9's? No, 11.0, so its not about hp, its about the entire set-up and right now there is not one 10 second Saab in America, well at least not until racing season starts and then it will not be long, either Nick T or I will get it done this year I feel and making a Saab go fast is not the same as a Mustang...

Im not dissen saab or anything. 650whp is nuts and yes a ton of wheel spin. I know nuthing about raceing... I would love to see a saab break 10s that would be sweet. Keep up the good work. Im still goin nuts over 650whp great job

I really do not know how much power its making, I know its up a good 80bhp over the last set-up, but that is about it, the dyno went crazy and the computer simulation hp numbers have been close for me in a couple of cases, but its not hard fast evidence of anything. I am going to give up on the dyno for a little while and get back to "real world data" :-)

So, it was fun to see 650 on the computer, but I have no idea what its really doing right now. Might be less, might be more, it really sings now, that is for sure.

Its the holset super40 and its on E85 with new 1600cc injectors. Got the new injectors dialed in nice and got the new rev limit working at 7800rpm, its time to get to the track and see what she will do this year. Should be able to get out there in the next few weeks,

Going to be getting some more video soon, the season will open soon and I hope to have everything ready to go in the next coupld of weeks. Might get one of those Go-Pro cameras and mount it all over the car, on top, in the front, inside the cabin and see what kind of video I can get while racing. Helmet cam would be cool too,
