This one came built. Other is yet unboxed, and yes - I have to paint it. Almost all kit parts are unpainted (that includes body). Only few companies supply their kits with painted bodies (e.g. Eland Models)...

Anyway - this 9000 is gorgeous !!!

Well, right now it's midnight. I'm one-hand typing, holding my Alex in other hand ... I didn't slept last 3 days (he have colics) ... but all this is topic for other kind of forums...
Congrats for your purchase. It's great model. And about your wife .... you don't have to tell her about your each purchased model :-) That's how I acquired mine (well, it takes some time - in my case about 12 years )

Neo is making a 900 vert 1/18 also, cant wait for them to make a 1/18 9k aero(They have made a 1/43 9k aero already)
also there is this chinese company i think that made the MY08 9-3 vert that on pictures seemed very very detailed... They seem to pop up on ebay from time to time.

Great collection!

I'm trying to avoid any resin models, because of one ingredient: Styrene (vinyl benzene) - C6H5CH=CH2.

Sure, I have all known resin Saab scale models, but all they are closed in special transparent "chamber" inside my display cabinet, so I practically touched them once.

When I started my initiative with Griffin Models , I was sure about one thing: I'm not going to use any toxic materials for my models. For example that's why my white metal have it's unique formula and doesn't contains any lead - instead regular white metal components I'm using bismuth, silver, tin and few other secret ingredients.

And that Chinese 9-3 convertible - it's kinda expensive for me at this moment. I prefer to pay that 300-400 USD for some rare Eland or Somerville.

Honestly I've never paid much attention to the Saab cars. I only bought my 9-7x cause I wanted something different than the Trailblazer SS. But every since I got it, the Saab cars have grown on to me. Besides the fact that there aren't many around as compared to every day Fords, GMs, Hondas, etc. I may consider one of the newer models for a daily driver.

Saab 99 Turbo - Stig Blomqvist.
Handmade mastermodel by Grand Prix Models
scale 1:43, white metal

It was real challenge to find this model. I finally bought it at ebay about 2 years ago (approx price ~ 160 EUR), and then just 2 weeks later I bought also a kit. Kit is yet unbuilt...

Somerville Models Saab 93A
maroon
handmade, scale 1:43, white metal

There's small mistake on this box: on the blueprint picture is 93B instead 93A. Note the doors opening direction!
