I'm more worried about the transmission than the XWD. So far everything is holding up well. Yes, I'm pushing the efficiency of the stock turbo to the max. It's still under warranty, that's why I'm stuck using the stock parts. Once the warranty is up, I'd like to make a custom twin turbo setup for it. I have a 450+ HP Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 with twin turbos and it is the way to go!!!
You are one lucky man. For years i dreamed about the 3000GT. I promised myself to get my first brand new car when i finished training, that was in 1999. Sadly they stopped making them a year earlier. Fantastic ride.

Not to sound like an ad, but Shaw Saab in Norwell (formerly Hingham). Yes they are far for me, and actually have been for decades .. but considering the number of times I go in a year and the quality of their work, I think they are the best. Of course it helps to have known the owner for the past 30 years.

I've had my share of taking the car to a different dealership and being left quite irritated.

used one wasn't worth it?

they're almost impossible to find now, the VR4s at least, and especially stock.

Also, in order to detect misfires, at least in the MY 06' V6, you have to tell the Tech II the car is a Caddy CTS with the 2.8L V6--pretty strange
Going thru the menu as the actual Saab V6 there is no menu choice for misfire readings. The 2.0 is very easy to find though.

No, I'm using the VCM Scanner SW from HP Tuners. It has the capability to monitor mis-fires.

glad to hear it! they are 70 miles from me, but I do pass by that area every once in a while.

*I hate to completely discredit charles river saab, but they have left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. I have handed them a list of things to look over in my car and how to diagnose them. most of my requests were turned down (except for the blatantly obvious headlight malfunction) they refused to acknowledge the leak on my right rear passenger door, and told me the hissing from my auxiliary port is normal (which is bull since it worked before they replaced the damn head unit). I tried to come off as a completely understanding and unimposing human being, but I guess I didnt leave a very good first impression by handing them that sheet upon appointment date. anyway, my car is nearing its 40k service, and I'm looking for a place that would take the time to look over the car with me and fix it right this time!

PS: do they offer or charge for loaners? I move alot in the day, so I'd hate to be without a car

Dude I got my Aero from them they're the best dealer I've been to thus far. In years past my parents have always gone to them for parts, etc... Excellent service. I saw someone with a Turbo X a while back at that dealership looking for snow tires, it sounded awesome.

FIrst off, the head of service was the head mechanic when I started going there in '84 (dating myself).

As far as loaners, you need to schedule one at time of making an appointment. They can't promise you one any other way (limited #).

Dealership is 2min. off highway now (which is far better than before).

OK enough recommendations ...

Barry
