Default racks and cargo carriers

im looking for a roof top cargo carrier for my 06. planning longer trips with the wife, kids and dog so we'll be running a receiver hitch rack and i'd like to look into a roof carrier aswell. obviously the factory roof rails are just cosmetic but i'd like to see what experiences other have with roof carriers..thanks

Matt,

Our 97x came with the Thule roof rack and ski holders. Since we don't ski, but travel with pets, we purchased the Thule Cargo holder and totally enjoy it. Go to my home page and click on the "Travel Wagon" album to view the Thule Cargo Carrier.

You are very welcome...I see Camp Pendleton as your location. We live right outside the back gate (O'side).

I picked up the saab/thule roof rack at state of nine for around $180 and then got a sears hard shell cargo carrier. In my opinion its nearly identical to the thule but substantially cheaper. The 16 cu ft one was around $170 on sale.
