Default Possible Turbo Rebuild

Hey guys,

I think my turbo is going. Ive noticed a weird smelling exhaust, and a white smoke last winter. Also I noticed my turbo wont hold boost. It will boost up, then slowly decrease. Ive already checked the wastegate, vac lines all that jazz.
I am planning on rebilding the engine this summer when I get back to NY. So why not fix the turbo while Im at it right?

I have a very well stocked garage and have rebuilt many enignes, but never a turbo. Does anyone have any experiance with rebuilding? I read somewhere that its not really a DIY type of job, due to impellors needing to be balanced. I found this on ebay. I have a full machine shop, but im pretty sure I dont have any kind of balancing equipment.

Id rather not get a rebuilt unit, as Im a little strapped for cash with this rebuild. But if I have to, I could forgo the mods..

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
