Default Import a 9-5 from the US to Canada

Hey,

So with my continued Saga to put myself in a 9-5/9-3 I have found what appears to be an excellent car.

2 owners.

1st owner: Full dealer service history from 1st guy. Includes PCV updates, synthetic changes, DI recall ect.

2n owner: Saab indy garage serviced. Oil changed with SYNTH every 3K miles. PCV update, and he replaced some items a few months back : like a DI and new bilsteins all around.

Car is white and full load. Price is $7,900 asking. Needs tyres, so I will offer around $7,300-$7,500USD if it is as good as he says it is. No sales tax in Oregon, car prices in Oregon are low like in California. This applies ot any vehicle search in Oregon, not just Saabs.

There is also a "small leak" from around the oil pressure sensor (is this bad?)
and small leak from valve cover gasket...what H type engine doesn't leak here?

The deal is: even for $7,500, by the time it gets to Canada it will be closer to $10,000. ...still WAY cheaper than up here. Plus I want a "good" car with a "good" service history.

I need to obtain a full printout from a dealer with all recall info! Does anybody know what recalls applied to the 2001 9-5 Aero in full?

Does the 9-5 US spec come with daytime running lights?

These cars go for about $13,000-$16,000 in good condition here. SO there is a bonus to all this work.

Has anybody completed this before? Tips, tricks? I have read thru the Canadian RIV site. But I understand I might need insurance for Oregon and Washington! How does a Canadian resident aquire such a thing? I need ot drive it to Canada.
