Default toyota ct26 turbo on my SAAB

i was wondering if any of you super hard core guys new anything about the toyota ct26 that was originally on either the MR2 or in this case my all-trac turbo celica thats dead with a blown piston straight through the oil-pan (2nd engine, don't buy this toyota!) anyway, i have this turbo sitting around, it's complete, i rebuilt it about 5,000 miles before the engine went. i know it probably wont fit, but if i make it fit. when compared to my stock turbo, it's double the size. how much boost until it's out of it's efficiency range? if i can't use it no-big-deal, just seeing if i can use some of these parts i spent so much $$$ on!

any help please

I think my buddies supra has this turbo. Or a variation of it. From what I remember the orientation of it is backwards to what we use. I mean that the intake is on the right and the exhaust on the left when hooked to the manifold. As ours are oriented the other way I don't think it will work. I'm not positive about this, but check that first.

You should be able to fab it up. Is the CT26 water cooled? You can make adapters to make the oil and water lines. I used steel braided lines. Just grab the turbo and make sure it can be installed on the manifold. You can clock the turbo so that the "In's and Outs" line up. I had to do that with my TD04. Make sure you have enough clearances from the Rad. Check by the A/C Compressor for the Air Intake Hose (Pre-Turbo).

And before you go about doing the swap.. check the specs on the CT26.. Not sure how much better it is than the T25. If you're gonna fab.. it better be worth it.

It looks like the CT26 is Twin Scroll: http://www.turbochargers.com/Turbos/...rades/CT26.htm

That means you'll need custom headers, probably a new pre-intercooler boost line, new oil and water lines and a new downpipe. (And, of course, a custom tune.) That could end up being a very expensive upgrade.

However, if you choose to go through with it, just make sure the header plumbs the center two cyllinders in one turbine scroll and the outer two cyllinders into the other turbine scroll.

I'd suggest selling it on e-bay and using the money to buy a bolt on turbo like a T-28. But that's just me.
