My clutch line ('85 900T) is leaking where the metal line meets the flex line near the slave.
I found an old thread where folks tried to fix a leaky line with clamps that didn't hold. Questions: 1. Is this at all repairable or should it just be replaced? 2. What about braided brake line as a replacement? Anyone tried that? Seems like it'd be easy to do, but I have no clue on the cost compared to the stock replacement. 3. How difficult is replacing this part? It appears threading it up to the master might be a puzzle. Thanks for any ideas. -*- Dan |

replace it, the replacement is sort of a pita, if you have a friend with small and long filanges you're good to go, otherwise have fun fiddling and cursing

Quick followup on this...
I spent quite a bit of time trying to find a replacement braided clutch line with no luck. And all the do-it-yourself kits seemed to be made for motorcycles (too short) or SAE instead of metric. I contacted the folks at Group 9 Performance about a pre-made braided clutch line and they responded yesterday that they will soon be offering such a part on their site. http://www.group9performance.com/ Because I need the car running soon, I ordered an OEM replacement hose from eEuroparts.com and am looking forward to wrestling it into position. Thanks for the replies! -*- Dan |
