You know, this is not the right forum, but this has bugged me for a while:

A black fly in your chardonnay is not ironic

OK, ok, ok - This is for you, Internet. I'm gonna say this once: Most of the examples of irony in that song's lyrics are smaller parts of implied situations. Rain on your wedding day? Not ironic if you live in Forks, Washington - but it's ironic if you live in Phoenix, and it hadn't rained in the three months preceding your nuptial deluge. A black fly in your chardonnay isn't ironic in itself, but it's ironic if a year's worth of cheap box wines were consumed at your table bug-free, and a black fly showed up for a swim the one time you splurged.

Yes, this isn't spelled out. But it's also song lyrics; you're supposed to use your imagination. "It's like a black fly in your Chardonnaywhenyou'vebeendrinkingcheapcrapforayeara ndtherewerenoproblemsuntiltodaaaay" doesn't really fit, you know?

As far as I could tell, the implications were pretty obvious from day one. I'm not that much smarter than you, Internet, so please, for the love of god, retroactively read between the lines and let the issue drop!

Very crazy about the bumper, good thing you were able to get it fixed right away! Reminds me of when I got my new rims, and one of them somehow managed to fall face-down on the concrete floor before I even got them on the car
