From my experience, dont feel you lost out on a 4 hr drive if you walk out, consider it a sweet driving experience

. from the looks of it, you were able to negotiate a price before visiting, is this correct? what was the original price if you dont mind me asking?
for me, it did help that i live 120+ miles from the dealership i did business with. it also helped that i was able to negotiate before taking a look at the car. original negotiation was 16k + trade in, the final negotiation came to 16k -500 for trade. this was coming from a car that listed for 21k at the dealership. but most importantly, i treated the visit like a casual walk in, and they knew that i have been looking around for a little over a month, which i feel that further pressed them to be more liberal with the price. i took the car for a testdrive, and found it performed much better than the previous aero i had tested, so i was already happy with the e-mail negotiation. to my surprize, they listed the car lower than the negotiated price, AWSOME! that literally was my facial expression, lol
anyway, my point is, i turned down negotiations i felt were decent, only to find something completely unexpected. while silver wasnt my first pick, chili red wasnt worth the 2k premium.
PS: if you do walk away from deals, ask for their information along with the negotiated price. i used this information to work better deals from competing dealerships.
